The one successful drabble I wrote today

Or "successful"...

Prompt: One-Night Stand
Fandom: 30 Rock
Pairing/Characters: Liz/British Pantomime Genius Wesley Snipes
Rating: PG-13ish
Word Count: not many
For: This atrocity
Spoilers: through the latest ep

After several glasses of her table's communal champagne, then a few open-bar mixed drinks while Floyd danced with his deer-like bride, Liz was drunkly sullen.

And, she realized, engaged. And it was a weekend evening, so..."familiar relations" wouldn't entirely be out of order.

Just this once. While really drunk. Because if she was marrying this guy, she was going to have a lot of headaches.

Liz pulled Wesley aside from the dance and whisper-slurred, "Say Colin Firth words to me."

"Beg pardon: who's Colin Firth?" Wesley asked.

"Ugh, you are the worst, Liz groused. "Do you want to get on this or not?"

"Well, well, you certainly get saucy when you're tipsybubbles...wait, are you talking about the gent who was in A Thousand Acres?"

Liz French-kissed him just to get him to shut up.

Later, as Wesley removed her Spanx while kissing his way (very effectively) around her kneecap, he said, "Now, lie back and think of England."

Liz almost said she hated him, but she had to admit that was a little funny.

God, at least she hoped he was trying to be funny.

TIPSYBUBBLES
HAHAHAHA, this is like all my dreams come true!!! I know it is so contrived to say this, but I seriously tried to quote my favourite parts and came out with ... all of it. Oh, tiny snapshot of perfection! ♥

Thanks so much. "Tipsybubbles" was actually the first thing I came up with, and I just built the drabble around it.

"Colin Firth words" too.

"Now, lie back and think of England."

NICE. Heeee, "tipsybubbles"! I also enjoyed "deer-like."

I'd call this a success (in England, I would call it a lorry).

This is kind of BRILLIANT!

And, she realized, engaged.
I have no problem seeing that happen. And "Colin Firth words."

Argh, I missed this. Thank goodness I decided to take a second look after sprinting through the flist yesterday.

Anyway, cheers, I really enjoyed this and "who's Colin Firth" made me laugh out loud.

I'm glad you liked it. I almost wish I could write more Liz/Wesley, they're so fun and awkward and hate-filled.

Liz and Wesley are like this super-stealth het ship that sneaked up on me. Tina does such a fantastic job in their scenes together. I don't think I've ever been more impressed with her acting skills.

If you ever do get around to writing more, I will be in the front row, with bells on.
